Hamden resident and Gimme Shelter member/supporter, Richard ‘Dick’ Pilchen died on October 31, 2020. I met Dick working at Subway in 1977. Any marketing and promotional skills exhibited in our quest for a Hamden Animal Shelter can be traced back to then. After my Subway days we stayed connected through travel, dogs and food – mostly food. Dick faithfully promoted our fundraisers, and would be the first reservation at any of our restaurant events.
